Fire Legislation In The UK

Legislation in England and Wales states that if you’re an employer, owner, landlord or occupier of business or non-domestic premises, and you are made the ‘responsible person’ for the fire safety in a building. You are therefore responsible for taking the necessary steps to protect occupants in your premises from the risk of fire.

It is your duty of care to ensure that all your passive and active fire protection is under a sustained, suitable and sufficient programme of inspection and maintenance.

Support is Available

The fire safety process always starts with a fire risk assessment. We can provide a fire risk assessment for you.

If you want to learn more about fire doors, you can contact us for advice.

Therefore, it is important to get a fire door survey carried out in your premises. This ensures all components of your fire doors are compliant with fire safety legislations.

Fire Door Inspections ensure that your fire doors are compliant and working right

At Staines Safety Services, we offer a professional and expert fire door inspection service. Our Fire Door Inspectors are fully qualified to carry out the inspections of your fire doors. They prepare a detailed report on the fire doors on your premises.

In 2022, 75% of fire doors failed their inspections. A failed inspection can happen for a number of reasons such as incorrect installation or general maintenance issues. We offer reliable services. Our main aim is to provide each customer with a peace of mind regarding their fire safety standards.

The Regulatory Reform Fire Safety Order puts the responsibility of Fire Safety on the owner of the building. Alternatively, they may nominate a responsible person who must be competent. The ultimate method of providing assurances that the passive fire protection installations within a building are installed correctly is to have a third-party inspection by a competent person.
